This came at the perfect time as I was literally mid spiral after sending out a communication with some inactive links. I was kicking myself for about 30 mins before I paused, took some breaths and started reframing the situation and how I felt about myself. If this wasn’t divine intervention idk what is. Thank you.
You, me, and divine intervention make a good team! (Also, I once sent out a communication to some 5000 people with inactive links, so we're in the same club!)
Again perfect timing, after waking at 3.20am ruminating on an email I received to my simple indication of where the team is at. It helps me to separate that they questioned my actions, followed it up with rhetoric, provided no acknowledgement, and my only choice is to self validate. Being adopted makes me crave acceptance, but really it's so not needed. Thanks Ellen!
I’m a perfectionist so I always spiral after I press submit and read all the mistakes. I type slower than my mind thinks so I miss words and misspell them. Then I believe everyone will think I’m a loser! 😂 But I think this comes from those haters who want to point out other people’s mistakes — English teachers and other perfectionist! But mostly my inner critic, of course.
I love your use of pictures and gifs. The “One of my thought spirals, as captured by the Hubble telescope” was perfect. 😂 Thank you for writing the newsletters and the books 🙏
I have to admit I gave myself a little chuckle with that one. I'm so glad you like the pictures! I think they're a nice way to add some ridiculousness to otherwise serious topics. And thank YOU for reading--I'm lucky to count you as a reader.
Thank you, yes, about what I said yesterday, and seemed to rehash in my dreams all night long. Thanks to your words, Ellen, I can feel my throat starting to loosen.

That sounds like a doozy of an email--I'll second your validation!

Sounds like you know your own mind well! That's a gift (even if it means we're well-acquainted with the inner critic). 😊

Wow, what a poetic effect! Thank YOU!
Such helpful tips! The book is full of great reframes.
Thank you again for your help and support, Mary! I appreciate you.
